Kinesiology Taping in Sydney

Kinesiology refers to the concept of movement mechanisms. It is a study of motion and behavioral techniques which helps study people’s motion movements especially for athletes or consistent body movement such as running, biking, or sports that use consecutive movements. Through research, there have been several products that help ease the pain and assist in such physical activities, one of which is kinesiology tape.

What is Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology tape, also known as Elastic Therapeutic tape, KT tape, or K-tape, is a type of elastic cotton strip tape designed to help release a person’s full range of motion. In 1970, a Japanese specialist by the name of Kenzo Kase developed this product. The product was donated to Olympic Athletes in the Beijing and London Summer Olympics and has taken off in popularity ever since. One of the kinesiology tapes is Rocktape, which can also be used to treat sports or non-sports injuries, or even a runner’s back or knee pain.

What is it Used For

It helps improve blood flow in the skin and is also used to help treat some disabilities and injuries from athletes, bruises, swollen injuries, or other physical conditions. It is especially valuable for athletes considering there have been studies proving it can help increase the spaces in the joints which helps reduce chances of joint pains which can enhance performance. It can support and help recover unhealthy muscles such as bad postures in the head and neck. There has also been research stating that kinesiology tape can help with the long-term appearance of surgery or injury scars, although it is not advised to use kinesiology tape on an open wound, so it is best to first consult a doctor.
